Welcome to Resell Your Franchise ("RYF", "we", "our", or "us"). RYF is a technology-enabled marketplace and facilitation platform that connects franchise sellers, buyers, brokers, advisors, and legal professionals across India. We operate as an intermediary and facilitator — not as a franchise broker, financial advisor, or legal counsel.

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, storage, processing, disclosure, and protection of your personal information and documents when you access or use:

  • The RYF website and web application (the "Platform")
  • Franchise resale registration and listing services
  • Franchise valuation services
  • Expert advisory and consultation sessions
  • Buyer matching and meeting services
  • Legal consultation booking services
  • All associated features, forms, and communications

By registering on, accessing, or using our Platform, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals who interact with the RYF Platform, including:

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Personal Identification Information

When you register or use our services, we collect:

  • Full legal name, first name, and last name
  • Email address and phone number (primary and alternate)
  • Residential and business address, city, district, state, and PIN code
  • Date of birth (where applicable)
  • Photograph or profile picture (optional)

3.2 Business and Financial Information (Sellers)

When you register a franchise for resale or request a valuation, we collect:

  • Franchise brand name, franchisor name, and franchise type/sector
  • Business registration details, GST number, PAN number
  • Annual revenue, monthly revenue, net profit margins, and cashflow data
  • Monthly operating expenses, rent, and payroll information
  • Asking price, expected price, inventory value, and equipment value
  • Number of employees, active customer base, and years in operation
  • Reason for sale, outstanding liabilities, and litigation status
  • Franchise agreement start and expiry dates
  • Lease area, tenure, and security deposit details
  • Tax return status and financial availability

3.3 Identity and Verification Documents

We collect sensitive documents to verify the identity of users and the legitimacy of franchises listed. These include:

  • Aadhaar Card (scanned copy or photograph)
  • PAN Card (scanned copy or photograph)
  • Franchise Agreement / License Agreement
  • Professional Qualification Documents (for Advisors and Brokers)
  • Business Registration Certificates
  • Financial Statements and Tax Returns
Important Notice:These documents are collected solely for identity verification, fraud prevention, and service facilitation. They are stored securely in Google Firebase Cloud Storage and are not shared with any third party except as explicitly described in Section 6 of this Policy.

3.4 Transaction and Payment Information

When you make payments on the Platform, we collect:

  • Payment amounts, transaction IDs, and Razorpay order/payment reference IDs
  • Service type and booking metadata
  • Payment status and timestamps

Note: We do not store your credit/debit card numbers, CVV, or banking credentials. All payment processing is handled by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.

3.5 Advisor and Broker Profile Information

  • Area of specialty (e.g., Financial Planning, Tax Advisory, Legal)
  • Consultation fees, professional bio, and location
  • Verification status and notes

3.6 Communication and Session Data

  • Messages, inquiries, and questions submitted through the Platform
  • Meeting details including scheduled date, time, and notes
  • Expert session deliverables and advisory outputs
  • Legal consultation descriptions and specific questions

3.7 Technical and Usage Data

  • IP address, browser type, and operating system
  • Pages visited, time spent, and navigation patterns
  • Device identifiers, cookies, and local storage data

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 Platform Services

Creating and managing user accounts, listing and discoverability of resale franchises, conducting valuations, matching buyers and sellers, scheduling sessions, and booking legal consultations.

4.2 Identity Verification

Verifying identity of registered users, verifying legitimacy and ownership of listings, preventing fraudulent listings, misrepresentations, and maintaining marketplace integrity.

4.3 Compliance & Legal

Complying with applicable laws and regulations in India, responding to lawful government requests, and maintaining required tax and corporate records.

4.4 Communication

Sending transactional emails, booking confirmations, schedules, and promotional updates (which can be unsubscribed from at any time).

5. Document Confidentiality and Data Handling

This section represents the trust you place in us and outlines our core data-handling commitment.

5.1 The Nature of RYF as an Intermediary

RYF operates as a neutral intermediary and marketplace facilitator. We do not independently verify the completeness or accuracy of all information. We are not a party to any transaction. Our role is to connect relevant parties and facilitate due diligence.

5.2 Document Access Controls

Documents submitted to the Platform are subject to strict access controls:

Under no circumstances will we:
  • Share your uploaded documents with other users of the Platform without your explicit consent
  • Sell, rent, or trade your documents to third parties for commercial gain
  • Use your business financial data for competitive or marketing purposes

5.3 Advisor and Expert Confidentiality Obligations

All advisors, brokers, and expert professionals registered are required to maintain strict confidentiality of all client documents, use client information exclusively for the purpose shared, and not disclose, copy, or distribute client data.

Limitation of RYF's Liability:While RYF contractually obligates all registered advisors, brokers, and experts to maintain confidentiality, RYF cannot be held responsible for the independent actions of an advisor or expert who breaches their confidentiality obligation outside of the Platform. If you believe an advisor has misused your information, please report it to RYF immediately at support@resellyourfranchise.com.

5.4 Franchise Listing Data

Publicly visible information: Franchise brand name, sector/category, city, state, asking price range, and a general description.
Restricted information: Detailed financials, contact numbers, PAN/GST, full address, owner identity documents (accessible only to verified buyers who are approved by RYF).

6. How We Share Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

6.1 With Service Professionals

When you engage an advisor, broker, assessor, or legal professional, we share the relevant documents with them solely to deliver the service you requested.

  • Any commercial purposes outside of our core platform facilitation

7. Data Storage and Security

7.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in the Mumbai, India regionon Google Firebase Firestore databases and Firebase Cloud Storage. All storage matches Google's robust security audits (ISO 27001, SOC 2).

7.2 Security Measures

  • Encryption in Transit: Secured via TLS 1.2/1.3 (HTTPS).
  • Encryption at Rest: Cloud files and DB records are fully encrypted.
  • Access Controls: Firebase Security Rules block unauthorized reads/writes.
  • Session Management: Token-based security checks on every request.

7.3 No System is Perfect

While we implement robust industry-standard safeguards, no digital system is 100% impenetrable. In the event of a critical security breach, we will notify affected users within a reasonable time as mandated by law.

You have the right to request a machine-readable copy of all personal data we hold about your profile.

You can modify or correct any inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated business profiles at any time.

You have the "Right to be Forgotten", enabling you to request deletion of your account and documents.

04. Withdraw Consent

You can opt out of promotional notifications or advisory matching services by changing account settings.

11. Children's Privacy

The RYF Platform is intended exclusively for use by individuals aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we identify that a minor has registered, we will promptly delete the associated records.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Platform may contain links to external sites (e.g. franchisors, government departments). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those websites, and we encourage you to review their specific policies upon visiting.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of the policy, place a banner notification on our site, and/or send an email notification directly to registered users.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India (Information Technology Act, 2000). Any disputes arising from this Policy are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rajkot, Gujarat, India.
